Dr. Shahat was born in Egypt. He received his Bachelor of Medicine and surgery in 2005 from Assiut Faculty of Medicine (AUFOM) in Egypt.
He then practiced for seven years as a general practitioner before deciding to emigrate to Saskatchewan, Canada. After obtaining the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada and qualifying for the SIPPA program, he resumed his practice in Yorkton starting in March of 2018.
Dr. Shahat and his wife Mona have two young children, Angelina and Emmanuel. He enjoys playing table tennis, hunting, as well as reading about astronomy and intercultural dialogue. The family enjoys music, watching movies, travel and spending time with friends.
Dr. Shahat speaks Arabic, English and French.
